Contemporary Notation
When it comes to contemporary music, engravers are used to expecting the unexpected. Due to the ammount of new techniques and notation methods developped in the last century, a professional copyist must be able to offer high quality services even when there is nothing traditional about the music in question.
This is why I offer engraving services for graphical notation, complex music, and extended techniques notation.
Rates:
Because of the uniqueness of each score, it is hard to set a fixed rate for music preparation. For this reason, I set my rates by hour of work. When it comes to complex scores and graphical notation, the price for music preparation is naturally higher that that of traditional notation. For this reason, the starting price for my services is 35€/h, which might be increased proportionally to how difficult is the service.
The initial quality of the files – that is, the readability of the manuscripts and pdfs, and the initial formatting of the sib. and XML. – affect the prices directly, given that it can drastically increase the time needed to complete a given work.
